The Riptide BBQ Story
Welcome to the Riptide BBQ home page. The Riptide Barbeque is located in scenic Depoe Bay Oregon.
Our Address is 433 NW Hwy 101; we are located next to the Pirate Coffee Company; south of the WorldMark resort community and just north of the Seawall. The Riptide offers the finest wood smoked locally fresh BBQ meats on the coast.
We use local vendors for our meat, vegetables, baked goods, and seafood. All cooked daily to perfection utilizing our in house made BBQ sauces, and rubs. Our pit master has spent over 17-years mastering the art of cooking and smoking meats.
The Riptide offers BBQ from three distinct regions of the country, south east, mid west, and Texas. Our pulled pork recipe is classic Carolina, and Georgia style. Slow smoked over Alder the pulled after 12 hours of cooking. Our Ribs are dry-rubbed, aged then kissed with our Kickin’ Apple mop similar to the St. Louis style. The brisket is dry rubbed with the Cascade rub then smoked over our BBQ pit, this is pure Texas style. Dine-in; take-out or delivered our meats can be purchased by the sandwich, meal or the pound.
Our sauces are all served on the side and offer bold flavors to suit your taste. The Mainstay is our Riptide Red; a tomato molasses based sauce with some heat at the finish. The Tsunami Slather a mustard based sauce with a strong current of horseradish running througout, and Vonda’s Vinegar a classic vinegar, pepper sauce from the eastern seaboard. Our side dishes are classic BBQ shack fare. We have Bark’n Beans; Coleslaw; potato salad; macaroni salad; Waldorf Salad, and many others offered on seasonal basis. Our pit master also crafts special
Ours is the only true wood fired BBQ pit on the central coast. We use local meats, hand make our own rubs, and sauces. We smoke our fish, and make our own sausages. Come taste the difference.

Armed with the idea of what a great restaurant should be, and with her extraordinary sense of hospitality, Gracie has made "Gracie's Sea Hag" Oregon Coast's most popular seafood restaurant and lounge.

When Mohava Marie Niemi, Newport’s crusty, big hearted chain smoking mother died in 1992 at the age of 79, she left behind much more than a successful business and a trunk full of colorful anecdotes. Her greatest legacy, perhaps, was the work ethic she instilled in her family, which survives to this day.
Cindy continues to run the business today along with the help of her daughter Gabrielle and son Dylan. In January of 2005 Cindy published a book, Mo’s On The Waterfront, Tradition Turned Legend to honor the life of her beloved grandmother and to celebrate the business she created over 55 years ago.

The Spouting Horn Restaurant is located along Highway 101 in Depoe Bay. Serving up seafood and other fare, this restaurant also has a gorgeous view of Depoe Bay Harbor and the Pacific Ocean.
Open for lunch and dinner, the Spouting Horn's menu includes crab cocktail, Spouting Horn Crab Louis and Oregon Shrimp Louis, such sandwiches as Hot Crab and Cheddar and Hot Shrimp and Cheddar, various seafood dinners, and the Spouting Horn Seafood Plate. Guests enjoy deep-fried prawns, local bottom fish, fresh-grilled Yaquina Bay oysters, and more on this full plate of food.
For dessert, don't miss out on Betty's homemade pies. She serves deep dish blackberry, apple, and cherry pies. Also on the dessert menu is fresh strawbery or raspberry pies.
For the last 40 years, they have offered a Chuckwagen Buffet on Thursdays and Sundays nights that consists of roast beaf, oven-baked chicken, deep-friend bottom fish, and Oregon shrimp salad. Also on the menu are their baked beans, assorted salads, hot rols, and their homemade whole wheat bread. On Sunday nights, they offer a steak special.
Open for breakfast too, patrons enjoy seafood from the Spouting Horn Wednesdays through Mondays. They are closed on Tuesdays.
