What goes best with Wine? Seafood!

The Newport Seafood and Wine Festival is here again! People from all over the Northwest gather at the South Beach Marina in Newport, OR to share in the very best wine from all over the Northwest, including the Willamette Valley, Umpqua, Columbia Valley, Washington state, and more!

In 1977 Newport began the long and lasting tradition of treating the Oregon Coast to the delectable creations of top winemakers in the surrounding areas and beyond. 2016 will be the 39th festival and it just keeps growing. With over 25,000 people expected to attend, the festival is one of the largest events on the Oregon Coast. Be prepared for more wine than seafood as the wine is the star of the show at this festival, and boy does it shine!

Both commercial and amateur wine competitions are held for Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Amateur winemakers are invited to submit their creations and are judged based on sight, smell, and taste quality. The categories include Dry Fruit, Sweet Fruit, Dry Berry, Sweet Berry, White Vinifera, White Non-Vinifera, Red Vinifera, Red Non-Vinifera and Specialty.

One of the best parts about the Seafood and Wine Festival is that most of the proceeds go to over 21 non-profit groups in the Newport area which means you get the chance to help the community of Newport by drinking wine! How awesome is that?

Tickets for a 3-day package with a commemorative wine glass are $44 and without a wine glass are $39. The event goes from Thursday from 5 pm to 9 pm, Friday 12 pm to 9 pm, Saturday 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm. Go to SeafoodAndWine.com/#tix to get your tickets now!

There are two after events. On Friday after the festival, starting at 9 pm there will be a dance party at the Shilo Inn in Newport with dancing, a DJ, and multiple bars. There will be a Country Lights Concert and Dance on Saturday evening after the festival at 7 pm with free line-dancing lessons, a silent auction, and a special performance by Border Patrol.

There will be a free shuttle for the event, but will not be dropping off or picking up from Depoe Bay this year.

The closest pickup to Bella Beach is 18 minutes away at the Pacific Shores RV. We recommend having a designated driver or hiring a taxi from Bella Beach for the festival.

Get your tickets to the most delicious festival on the coast and stay with Bella Beach for comfort, style, and a home away from home to come back to after the festival! Go to SeafoodAndWine.com for more information!
